Cosmic Crisp™ apples are the new star in the Washington apple scene. This brand focuses on the cosmic factor in the name and look of the apple creating modern imagery unique to the apple industry.
Cosmic Crisp Apple
Cosmic Crisp™ apples are a cross between 'Enterprise' and 'Honeycrisp.' This is the latest edition of the Washington State University's world-class tree fruit breeding program. The large, juicy apple has a remarkably firm and crispy texture. Its exceptional flavor profile provides ample sweetness and tartness, making an excellent eating apple.
BR's Goal
Create a brand unique to this new apple variety that plays off its name. We took the cosmic theme and turned it into a clean, modern brand different than anything else seen in the apple industry.
Inspiration
The Cosmic Crisp™ apple is covered with white dots scientifically referred to as lenticels. These dots that spatter the apple resemble stars in the night sky. The cosmos played a big roll in the further branding of the apple, especially the spiral of the Milky Way.
The logo was designed regarding the spiral galaxy while still maintaining an apple identity. Three rounds of logo design were proposed before landing on the final.

Designing the Cosmic Crisp™ website, our goal was to offer users a simple tool to find information on this exciting new apple. This meant offering large and easy to understand navigation, minimal pages, and clean design.
Packaging
We created a variety of classic apple packaging with the final logo and overall galaxy look including gusset bags, euro box displays, and the standard apple box
